Çamtepe

Çamtepe Ecological Center has been opened with the contribution of a joyous crowd on March 21st. From volunteers of Buğday to villagers and NGOs we have opened our doors with 350 people celebrating the day.

On March 21st, beautiful and warm weather welcomed us. We have made the last preparations together with the volunteers who have arrived the day before. During the nature walk, we have made new friends and spotted various bird species. Plenty of food have been cooked on wood fire and we all had lunch in the garden in open air, had more time to chat and meet each other. Soon the soap maker has arrived and we observed him working adding another priceless experience to the day.

Çamtepe Ecological Center for Living, Training, Practice and Demonstration, is implemented as part of an ecological settlement, which is formed by the group staff of Buğday Association. It is envisioned that the center will host training programmes, practices and meetings in coordination with the association whilst being designed to accomodate many people. The building is constructed totally in accordance with ecological principles. It aims not just to be a salute to ecological living, but to showcase through the dynamic life that is carried on within, that human action and natural harmony is possible.

• Please follow the instructions below to arrive to Çamtepe:
  • To go to Çamtepe Ecological Living Center, you need to go to Küçükkuyu, which is on the Edremit – Çanakkale road.
  • After arriving at Küçükkuyu, take the road to Bahçedere Village and follow that road after Bahçedere. Çamtepe building is on the left about 3 km after Bahçedere village.
  • From many big cities, there are buses to Küçükkuyu. It is approximately 7 hours from İstanbul, 12 hours from Ankara and 5 hours from İzmir.
  • If you are coming with your own car, it is possible to arrive through Çanakkale or Balıkesir.
