Vision
Çamtepe Ecological Center for Living, Training, Practice and Demonstration, is implemented as part of an ecological settlement, which is formed by the group staff of Buğday Association. It is envisioned that the center will host training programmes, practices and meetings in coordination with the association whilst being designed to accomodate many people. The building is constructed totally in accordance with ecological principles. It aims not just to be a salute to ecological living, but to showcase through the dynamic life that is carried on within, that human action and natural harmony is possible!
The center is planned to be a research, implementation, demonstration and training center.
It will function as a place to:
- Use and demonstrate traditional and alternative technologies (e.g. correct practices such as primitive plow and solar energy) whilst sharing information about them
- Reduce the energy need to as natural amount as possible, covering that need using sustainable resources
- Explain the production process of all the materials used and their costs to nature
- Experience an architectural ecological design
- Present nature friendly practices to TaTuTa farmers and visitors
- Direct people to TaTuTa farms
- Strive to ensure these farms remain in the family of ecological living whilst augmenting their ecological capacities
- Communicate between WWOOF, GEN and ECEAT* visitors.
* Within the context of TaTuTa project, Buğday Association is the only representative of ECEAT (European Centre for Ecological and Agricultural Tourism ) and WWOOF (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) in Turkey. Apart from this, it is also a part of GEN Europe (The European Ecovillage Network).
